The Alternative Certification for Teachers Program may be right for you. In less than a year, you could be in the classroom teaching full time.
Which age group of children would you like to teach?
If you plan to transfer to a four-year university to earn your teaching degree and certification for grades 4-12, you can begin at Brookhaven College by earning an Associate of Arts in Teaching. The three AAT curricula are designed to lead to teacher certification in three areas:
Each AAT degree consists of the Brookhaven College Core Curriculum and the additional course work required for the specific certification sought.
The Brookhaven College Child Development Program is designed for those who plan to work with infants, toddlers and young children. There are several associate degree programs and certificates available.
Designed for students who already have bachelor's degrees, the ACT Program offers a fast-track to the classroom. Earn your teaching certificate and be ready for a full-time teaching position in less than a year. Visit the ACT Web pages to see what certification areas are available.
Our Corporate and Continuing Education Division offers opportunities for current teachers to learn new technologies and instructional methods.
