A Continuing Education Unit is defined as 10 contact-hours of participation in an organized continuing education, adult, or extension experience under reasonable sponsorship, capable direction and qualified instruction.
CEUs are recognized nationally as a measure of substantive in-service education and training. However, the CEU should not be interpreted as a substitute for college credit. It is merely a means of recording and reporting the various continuing education activities which one accumulates over a period of years.
CEU merit awards are issued by the instructor at the last class session, to students who successfully complete a Continuing Education vocational course.
