We offer a diverse and dynamic program of courses covering all aspects of the computing arena: hardware, software, communications and Web development. We have programs for those entering the computing field for the first time as well as for experienced workers who want to broaden their knowledge and learn new technologies. We can help you attain knowledge and experience in the computer skills needed in today’s job market. We offer two-year associate in applied sciences degrees in five areas of specialization.

Computer Networking

Brookhaven College is a Microsoft® IT Academy offering training in the MCSE (software engineering), MCDBA (database administration) and MCSD (solution development) tracks. You can even earn your associate’s degree and prepare for your Microsoft certification at the same time!

E-commerce

Build a strong foundation in the business side of electronic commerce as well as the technical know-how to make it happen. Graduates will be ready to start their own businesses on the Internet, join the corporate computing world as Web developers or work in the dot-com industry. This degree also transfers to the University of Texas at Arlington for those interested in pursuing a four-year degree.

Personal Computer Support

Learn how to install, troubleshoot, evaluate and correct problems for PC hardware and software. Graduates will be qualified to provide hardware and software support for personal computer users in a corporate environment.

Software Programmer/Developer

Learn basic programming skills and gain in-depth knowledge of a primary computer programming language and experience with a second language. Graduates will be qualified to work as entry-level programmers in an applications setting. This degree can be earned in conjunction with a Web Developer Certificate or you can focus on the MCSD certification courses.

UNIX

Gain fundamental and advanced skills covering UNIX system design and operation. Graduates will develop knowledge and skills necessary to become UNIX users or system administrators.

We also offer courses in information security, computer literacy and Cisco, as well as courses that transfer to four-year universities in computer science and business computer information systems.
