This course will explore the trials and tribulations of a variety of heroes in their journeys toward enlightenment. Through this exploration, students will examine their own personal journeys in relation to the collective human experience.

The Holocaust and other Genocides: By focusing on the literature of the Holocaust (1939-1945) as well as historical readings and lectures, this course will show how people can be led to believe in the necessity of destroying their fellow human beings and the disasters which result. This course will include a visit to the Dallas Memorial Center for Holocaust Studies and lectures from survivors and liberators of the concentration camps.
