The buzz of mid-term is everywhere on campus. I want to pause and offer special thanks to Ben Barnes, executive dean for administrative and educational technology, and Michael Dennehy, executive dean for Social Science interim dean for Math and Science, for taking time from their busy schedules to participate on the planning team for the League for Innovation Conference on Information Technology which will be held in Dallas next week. Numerous Brookhaven employees also have volunteered to help with conference logistics and hospitality. Thank you all for taking the time to represent the DCCCD so ably. The CIT provides a wonderful opportunity for Brookhaven employees to be energized by stories and examples of technology that enhance teaching and learning.
The first “gathering of thousands” — members of the Brookhaven College Achieving the Dream Success Teams and others who attended the Learning College Conference at Valencia College in Florida — met last Friday to review system and Brookhaven College goals and begin to address our priorities for AtD this year. You will hear more about how the college will undertake the priorities, for we each play a vital role in the success of our students. In the meantime, please review our college goals listed below. Ask yourself, “Where do I fit?” and “Does my daily work move the college forward toward accomplishing our goals?”
